Sue did a wonderful job. I know this is an extremely busy time of year as CASPA is accepting applications and Sue was great about responding to my initial submission and getting back to me. She provided thoughtful feedback and quality editing. Fingers crossed for an acceptance to PA school!
Ditto great website. Since medicine is a totally different field from my previous career, it has been a challenge to figure out how to get direct healthcare experience. I 8767 m currently trying to get more direct HCE by taking the CNA and PharmTech licensing courses/exams (to work), and by shadowing a PA (my preferred method). Fingers crossed I just asked my NP/PA if they will let me shadow so hopefully it will work out
Every day is a gift to be embraced wholeheartedly. It is our job to fill that day with a hopeful and meaningful purpose. It has been said that “the most important thing in life is to live your life for something more important than your life” William James. It is deeply rooted in this philosophy that I desire to become a physician assistant (PA). I hope to provide quality healthcare to the underprivileged, an area of medicine, which I have noted to be dramatically underserved.

If you strike out, consider volunteering. It 8767 s a great way to get medical exposure in a short period of time. Emergency rooms provide great learning opportunities. Also look for private and nonprofit volunteer organizations in your area. In California we have Rock Medicine ( ), and other states may have similar organizations. International organizations are also a great way to get medical experience while taking a vacation. If you 8767 re a borderline candidate, this could really make your application leap out at a physician assistant school admissions committee. Check out The International Medical Volunteer Association at for a list of international opportunities. My favorite is Amigos de las Americas ( ).
