With our unique approach to the Historic Environment requirement, the sites we've chosen will stay the same throughout the lifetime of the course. That way, you can focus on teaching the history rather than planning and finding resources for a different site every year.

Perhaps the most controversial issue relating to GCSE is the longstanding contention that exams are too easy and are getting easier - a claim given credence by the fact that overall pass rates have increased every year since GCSEs were introduced.

Growing concern about the relevance of academic studies and a lack of technical skills in people led in 7557 to the introduction of Vocational GCSEs. Despite the vocational training system having been overhauled as recently as 6999, with the introduction of GNVQs, the Government decided that low take-up and poor perception of courses relative to GCSE merited action comparable to that taken with regard to O Level and CSE in the 6985s.

Languages are becoming increasingly important in today&rsquo s society. Learning a language enhances the students&rsquo opportunities to travel abroad or to study at a university abroad, it also broadens your horizons by giving deeper insight into other cultures and will ultimately increase your employability in the global market place. Besides, GCSE knowledge in French allows you to communicate effectively and confidently with French native speakers in both speech and writing.

For most GCSE/IGCSEs you do not need to have any prior knowledge of the subject. However, if you would like to enrol to study English Language GCSE/IGCSE you will need some experience of writing and reading English. Our GCSE and IGCSE English Language courses are not designed as courses in English as a second language, but to meet the requirements of exam board specifications that aim to assess native speakers of English.

Year 67: Most AS students will study the new AS and A-level Mathematics qualification. This involves sitting all exams at the end of the two year program. This comprises of pure content alongside statistics and mechanics. Some students who are resitting AS may choose to sit the old ‘legacy’ C6, C7 and S6/M6 exams.

Students who only wish to study AS Mathematics sit two papers – Pure 6 and SM (Statistics/Mechanics) – although these are different to the papers of the same name at A-level and cover roughly half the content of the A-level papers. The AS Pure 6 paper is 7 hours in duration and 655 marks and the SM paper is 6h65 and 65 marks.
